Thanksgiving in Nevada

Our Thanksgiving was so much fun! Our awesome friends, the Menlove's, drove all the way out here to Nevada and shared the holiday with us. My sweet parents drove over the mountains to share it with us too! There wasn't enough room in the Munns Motel so my parents shacked up at the Peppermill. I know my mom wasn't too sad about that....can we say slot machines? And yep, she took home some money. Way to go Mom!! So anyhow, our dinner was fabulous. Many hours to prepare and only minutes to devour. Colleen and I tried to make rolls but that was quite the flop. However, Kalin ate them up....thanks Kalin!
One day we headed into Sparks and played at the Coconut Bowl. We all had a blast! The younger kids ran around in the play structure, the older boys bowled, and Colleen and I hung out and visited while we watched the kiddos. This little bowling lane was great for the little ones. Dylan thought it was sweet! He loved to chuck the ball down the lane and watch it come back to him. The best part of this whole play day was the toy crane. Nate and Kent made that game rich. All of us were gathered around it and when the crane would snag a toy, we all held our breath hoping it would make it to the drop. Most of the time it didn't and I swear the whole place could hear our OOOHHH'S, SO CLOSE and all the laughing that went along with it. Needless to say, every kid walked out of there with a stuffed animal. Thanks boys!!!
Here are some pictures of our trip up to Virginia City and Sand Harbor. At Virginia City, we went in their Fire Musuem. Many old things in there. It had snowed up there and was really cold so we didn't stay too long. Afterwards, we headed to Sand Harbor and let the kids run around on the rocks and snapped some pictures. It was cold there too. All in all, it was a great weekend. A little Rock Band, a little Up and Down the River, many pies, good laughs and great memories. Thanks to all who came out! We loved it!

Better late than never! I should have posted this before my Thanksgiving post but oh well! Our Halloween was great. The boys had fun cleaning the pumpkins and Nate and I carved. Nolan was Frankenstein (I actually made his hair piece). Cody was Captain Jack Sparrow and a cute one to boot! And our little Dilly was a dog. I decided last minute to dress up as a rodeo clown and Nate was carried upon the back of little Richard. The kids were able to trick-or-treat twice! First at our trunk-or-treat at the church. Then Nevada celebrates their state holiday on Oct. 30th so we had no school and headed to Cali for the rest of Halloween.
My parents decked out their house with ghosts and goblins. There were some great decorations in their neighborhood too. We headed into Sacramento and took a ride on the Spookamotive train. It was a great time and then we walked around the old shops and snapped some pictures. On our way back, near my parents exit, they have these two tractors in the field built out of straw bails. My kids thought they were cool. On our way back to Nevada we headed to the famous Apple Hill. It was beautiful up there. We had lunch, the kids ran around the straw bail maze, they got some crazy balloons and of course we picked up some delicious apple pie and super yummy candied apples.
Here is a little video clip of Dylan and I at my parent's house. Too funny not to share!
